Framed Reindeer Flourish

Good Monday morning.  I have been enjoying creating fast and easy holiday cards using the new Impression Obsession dies.  My project today was made using the Reindeer Flourish and the frame was made using the Nesting Card Templates. Both the reindeer and frame were cut using Bazzill Metallic Gold Foil and layered over White E Flute Corrugated Cardstock. I love using my crimper on projects and was instantly drawn to this corrugated paper.  I thought it was the perfect background for the reindeer because it added interest and dimension without distracting from the beautiful lines of the image.

I started by layering the corrugated cardstock on the card base using ATG adhesive. Next I applied mounting tape to the back of the gold frame and attached it to the card base.

I embellished the neck of the deer with a few sprigs and gold 1/8” punched circles and attached with glossy accents. I applied mounting tape to the back of the reindeer and attached it to the card base.

The Reindeer Flourish is such an interesting and modern image and is perfect for a clean and simple project to mass produce for your holiday cards.  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a great week.

  1. So beautiful. I love the mix of the straight lines of your card with the curves of the deer’s antlers and the sprigs around his neck…I like having different shapes on my cards vs. everything being the same shape.
I agree that your cards are clean, but, to me, certainly not “simple”….I know I sometimes use the “clean and simple” description when I should say “clean and crisp”…
    Very pretty card…TFS

  2. Another lovely card, deceptively simple with a strong presentation. Already inspired to start “Christmas on Paper” by this and last week’s samples. Wouldn’t miss your daily blog for all the world. Thank you, Kittie!

  6. Beautiful card!! I love your work. But, I have a question. From the photos, it looks like the reindeer is brown/bronze and outlined in gold, but you said you just used gold metallic paper. Is it just the lighting, or did you do something to color in the reindeer’s body?
