Impression Obsession Spring Release Blog Hop Day 3

Good Monday morning and welcome to day three of our five day Impression Obsession Spring Stamp Release Blog Hop! The team is bringing you wonderful designs to show off the new stamps and there will be gift drawings.  Check out the Impression Obsession blog for all the details.

My project today was made using the new Cover-a-Card Vintage Honeycomb paired with the Roosters and ChickensFoliage, Small Grass Border, Tiny Flowers and framed with one of the Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames.  I know that I should of thought honeybees when I started making my project but all I could think of was chicken wire and Anna and Jeanne, the two chicken lovers on our team.  If you like chickens you might enjoy checking out Anna’s Chicken Portraits on her blog.

I used my new MISTI to stamp the large image on my cardstock and then attached the layer to the card base using ATG adhesive.  I attached the frame to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape.  I cut two full sections of the foliage die, cut some of the larger pieces apart and tucked them in behind the frame to create a foliage backdrop for the scene. I added the grass border to the front of the foliage as an afterthought as the ground area was too skimpy for my taste.

I colored the chicks, chicken and rooster using mini applicators and several distress inks.  The chicken and rooster were attached into the scene with mounting tape and the chicks were attached with rolled up glue dots.  I attached a few tiny red flowers to the foliage with glossy accents for the finishing touch.

  1. Very cute. The chickens make me remember going to visit my Grandparents as a child and gathering eggs in the mornings. The rooster was an alarm clock for my Granddad. Such sweet memories. Thank you.
