Good Sunday morning and Happy Mother’s Day. I have mentioned many times in previous posts that my mother was a florist and an extremely talented designer. Mother’s Day was a very busy flower holiday and the flower shop was always filled with gorgeous flowering plants and a refrigerator full of fresh flowers for bouquets and corsages. White flower corsages were ordered to wear to honor a mother who was deceased and colorful flowers to wear to honor a mother who was still living. I was curious this morning as to whether this was a tradition still honored today so I Googled Mother’s Day corsage etiquette and found this article –Mother’s Day and Flowers: A Time-Honored Tradition. I especially remember my mother today with love and appreciation for how hard she worked and all the sacrifices she made for her children.
I started out to make my project a white on white card to remember mother but decided to fill it with lovely colored flowers against an all white background to honor her. If she were living today she would be my biggest fan and would be pleased at how much I love making paper flowers.
I cut the Ornate Square Frame and matted it with a frame made using the Nesting Squares. I attached the matting frames to the back of the ornate frame using double stick tape. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frames and attached it to the card base.
I cut the Bouquet flowers out in several colors as well as a few tiny flowers and attached them to the green stems with glossy accents. I cut the stems apart so I could shorten them for my arrangement and then arranged them in the frame and attached with glossy accents. I cut a section of Tall Grass, cut it apart and tucked the taller stems in behind the arrangement to add a touch of softness and to draw the eye up. Originally I only had the pink, purple and aqua flowers in the arrangement but ended up adding several yellow Tiny Flowers. I added the soft white multi loop bow for the finishing touch.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you are enjoying a wonder Mother’s Day. And don’t forget to check out Ellen’s Mother’s Day sale. It will end tonight at midnight PST.

Hi Kittie…You make this beautiful flower look so easy…I bought the die-cut and could not beleive my eyes when I saw how many pieces I would be putting back together again. I used some new stampin-up glue and worked well, but you need ALOT of patience for this one…
Thanks for sharing your awesome ideas.
