Good Tuesday morning. I am off work this week on a staycation and hope to have lots of time playing in my craft room. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride and Soft Sky. I pulled out my new Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Wishes stamp set and Vintage Wishes Frame Cuts die set to try my hand at creating a snowy snowman scene with soft colors. By the way Ellen Hutson is having a 10% discount on all in-stock Hero Arts this week. There are so many new holiday items.
I die cut three plain trees in green, stamped them with the matching tree images using versa and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The stamps don’t quite cover the cut tree so I lightly rubbed the edges of the trees over the versa pad and then embossed with white powder. I sponged a soft sky background and then stamped the snowy frame image from the set and embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the whole snow framed layer out using my deckle scissors and then attached to a pink layer cut using deckle scissors.
I stamped the snowman with black versafine and embossed with black embossing powder, cut him out and attached him in the scene with mounting tape. The trees were attached around the snowman with mounting tape. I cut the frame using Nesting Card Templates then cut the outside of the frame with deckle scissors to match the scene layer. I applied thin strips of mounting tape and attached the frame to the card base. The scene layer was attached to the card base with mounting tape. I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the set but then suffered long and hard trying to figure out where to place it. LOL! I finally decided to set it in the sky area of the scene.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
