Scallop Framed Daisy and Blog Candy

Good Saturday morning.  I have a flower project to share with you today made using the Hero Arts Daisy Cutting Set and My Favorite Things Mini Scallop Square Stax and Stitched Square Scalloped Edge Frames

KC Hero Arts Daisy Cutting Set 1 left

I attached the yellow and white scalloped layers together with strips of mounting tape and attached the two layers to the card base with mounting tape.  I cut a strip of yellow and cut the sides using scalloped frame and attached it to the white layer with double stick tape.

I formed the petals by placing the flower sections face down on the molding pad and curling the petals with the large stylus.  I turned the flower sections face up on the molding pad and gently pushed down in the center to raise the petals.  I attached four flower layers together to create a nice full daisy.  I lightly applied Wild Honey ink to the flower center using a mini applicator and then attached it in the flower center using a square of mounting tape. I formed the leaves with the stylus and molding pad. I attached the leaves and flower to the card base using glossy accents. I didn’t think the flower and leaves filled out the space enough so I added the thin scalloped frame attaching it with thin strips of mounting tape.

Blog Candy

I’m sure if you follow my blog you know how much I love shopping at Ellen Hutson.  And if you love shopping there as well you know she sends a yard of beautiful ribbon as a thank you gift.  I stash mine in a plastic bag to keep them all together and when the bag gets full I love to offer them as blog candy.  This time my bag is overflowing with 27yards of ribbon  (please don’t tell my husband I’ve placed 27 orders over the last several months).  All you need to do to qualify for my gift is leave a comment on this post by Tuesday, February 7 at 5:00 pm.  I’ll announce the winner on my blog Wednesday morning.

  1. What a beautiful and cheerful card. I am such a daisy girl! It’s gray and dreary here today so I needed something bright and cheery! Thanks for that! Ribbon! I never used to use ribbon but now I have a few people who receive my cards and they are always requesting ribbon, bows, and more ribbon! The Big M, HL, and JA are about 25 miles away and it’s a trek. Maybe it could come and live at my house?

  9. The scalloped edges perfectly mimic the tips of the petals on your pretty daisy. The strip of yellow going across the card makes your card even more unique. Love your talent, Kittie!
