Good Sunday morning. I had a good time playing with my new Impression Obsession Square Frame and Lily Trio die sets. I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to color the lilies but ended up making them dark purple to match the frame. I like how they turned out. This will be one of my mother-in-law’s Easter cards. She is living in a nursing facility and we send her cards every couple of days. She likes to decorate her room with them.
I cut the frame using Bazzill Jelly Bean cardstock and attached it to the card base using thin strips of mounting tape. The white center decorative piece was attached with mounting tape to be level with the frame.
The flowers were cut using Arches hot pressed watercolor paper. I misted each flower lightly to prepare to accept the ink. I used Bamboo Leaves and Grape Jelly Memento markers to color and I applied ink on an acrylic block to use as a palette. I picked up the ink using my waterbrush and applied it to the flowers and foliage. Once the flowers were mostly dry I applied more ink with the marker to create a bit of shading and then lightly blended it with my brush to blend. Two of the three flower heads were attached with small pieces of mounting tape. The third flower on the lower right was attached with a double layered piece of mounting tape to stand out just a little more in the arrangement. The lower stems were attached together and in place with micro glue dots.
Check it out! Ellen Hutson is having a Spring Cleaning sale this weekend.
