Crafty Lady

Good Saturday morning.  I started paper crafting using Stampin’ Up! products back in 2003 and one of the most popular sets during that time period was Stella Stamper.  We were all crazy for images and sentiments that pertained to the craft.  Brandi Kincaid has created a modern version with updated images and sentiments that appeals to crafters today.  My project today was made using the Essentials by Ellen Leading Ladies- Crafty Lady Stamp Set and Crafty Lady Die Set.  You can check out both Crafty Lady and Stella Stamper below.

I stamped all the images using black versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I stamped the base girl image on watercolor paper and then stamped her a couple of times on pink and green cardstock and on MFT Merry and Bright Plaid Patterns.  I used reinkers to watercolor the head, hair, hands and feet.  You’ll notice I got a little carried away with the pink on her cheeks.  In truth I had some brown hair ink smudge over on the side of her face so I tried to camouflage it with the pink on her cheeks.  LOL!  There is a matching die set that I could have used to cut out all the images but I wanted to paper piece the clothing and bag so I fussy cut all images.  I pieced the shirt, jacket, pants and shoes to the base image and attached with glossy accents.  I attached all the little images-paint brush, marker, scissors and ATG to the back of the bag with glue dots.

I stamped the sentiment on the card base with black versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I attached the frames to the card base using thin strips of mounting tape.  The Crafty Lady was attached to the frame with a single layer of mounting tape and a double layer of tape under the bag.  Sadly you can’t see the crafting elements well in the photos as they all are a too dark so I took a little close up and over brightened it for you to see.  Yes.  I cut those little images out and almost went blind trying to do it.  I ended up with a scissor cut and Band-Aid. LOL!

This stamp and die set would be a perfect gift for a paper crafting friend.

  1. This is SO CUTE, Kittie! With the newer set, one can Paper Piece, whereas the older set is more about coloring! I LOVE those old sets of SU that have that country feel though. You did SUCH A SUPER JOB on your card & I LOOOOVE the paper pieceing you’ve done!!! 😉
