Good Tuesday morning. I have one more die cut butterfly, flowers and scallop layer card to share with you today. I most likely will put the butterfly dies away for a little rest as I have made so many cards using them recently but I just can’t seem to help myself. I think they are so pretty and look great on a clean white background. I couldn’t resist adding two small purple strips to the scallop layer for another element of dimension and interest.
For this project I used Rubbernecker Stamps 5141D Nested Rectangle Scallop w/Holes, 5102D 2 Part Butterfly #3, 5147-09D Flower Buds and 5147-05D Flower Stems.
The Scallop Layer and Strips
I cut the purple layer and attached it to the white card base using strips of mounting tape. I cut the white scallop layer, applied mounting tape to the back of it and attached it to the purple base layer. I cut a partial portion of the scallop die using the purple cardstock and cut the strips and attached them to the white scallop layer using double stick tape.
The Butterfly and Flowers
I cut the solid butterfly in purple and the decorative butterfly layer in white. I attached the two pieces together using glossy accents. I cut purple flowers and formed them using my stylus and molding pad. I cut the foliage and formed them gently with my fingers. I attached three main foliage layers to the center of the butterflies using glossy accent to create a base for the flowers. I attached several flowers using glossy accents and then tucked a few more pieces of foliage to the arrangement to finish.
Assembling the Die Cut Butterfly, Flowers and Scallop Layer
I attached the butterfly to the scalloped layer with a piece of mounting tape. I finished by attaching small pre made white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers using glossy accents.
I love playing with the die cut butterfly, flowers and scallop layer and think this is such an elegant combination for a card. It is so versatile and could be used for so many occasions. I hope you haven’t tired of seeing so many projects made using one of my favorite color combination for summer cards. You can check out this butterfly link if you are interested in seeing more butterfly projects I’ve made recently.
