Good Thursday morning. I have another die cut pink poinsettia card to share with you today. I cant seem to help myself. This is very similar to the pink poinsettia Christmas card I posted a few weeks ago but this time I used a simple decorative white frame on an all white background. The poinsettia, holly and berries really pop against the white space. I’m gonna have to make one like this with a red poinsettia and berries soon. Once again I have to say how much I love this Rubbernecker Poinsettia #2 die set as the shape of the petals are so natural looking and the outcome is such a natural looking flower. I arranged Holly and Berries around the poinsettia and framed it using the Rectangle Combo #2.
The Frame
- Cut the rectangle frame using white cardstock.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.
Assembling The Poinsettia
- Cut the flower out once using pink cardstock and the largest flower section twice using pink cardstock.
- Cut the tiny flowers out using yellow cardstock.
- Use mini applicators to apply Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick ink to all the flower petals to add depth of color.
- Place the flower sections face down on the molding pad and form the petals using the large round stylus.
- Place the flower sections face up on the molding pad and push down in the center using the small tipped stylus to push the petals up.
- Begin assembling the flower by attaching the layers together using glossy accents. Off set the layers so no petals are lined directly over each other. I used two green layers on the bottom to create a full base.
- Form the tiny flower centers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad and attach in the flower center using glossy accents.
The Holly and Berry Branches
- Cut the holly and berry branches using green cardstock.
- Cut the berries for both the holly and branches using pink cardstock.
- Apply glossy accents to the berry bases and use the jewel picker to pick up the berries and attach.
- Apply Worn Lipstick ink to the berries to add a depth of color.
Create the Arrangement
- Apply glossy accents to the back of the poinsettia and attach it to the card base.
- Tuck the holly sections under the flower petals and attach with glossy accents.
- Tuck the berry branches under the flower petals and holly and attach with glossy accents.
I hope you have been inspired to get out your poinsettia, holly and berry branches dies to make a die cut pink poinsettia Christmas card of your own. I sure do appreciate you coming by and I hope you have a great day.
