Good Friday morning. For my project today I made a red wagon and Christmas tree. I had lots of fun decorating the tree with the red ribbon garland and sparkly red ornaments. I think the white frame and the gingham paper creates the perfect accompaniment for the wagon and tree. The Wagon, Greenery and Deckle Hills are all discounted for the Rubbernecker Black Friday Sale. You will definitely want to check out all the sale items in the sale category.
The Christmas Tree
- Hand cut a piece of green cardstock in the shape of a Christmas tree triangle.
- Cut several sections of the greenery die using green cardstock.
- Cut the greenery sections into small sections and begin attaching them to the top of the tree triangle using glossy accents.
- Continue adding pieces of greenery to the tree base using larger and larger pieces as you work your way down.
- Check out my Evergreen Tree video tutorial and step by step photos over at Splitcoaststampers to see how I build my tree. The tutorial was done with different greenery branches but the procedure is exactly the same.
- Add red ribbon garland to the tree and a multi loop red bow to the top. I used .50 cent ribbon from Michaels.
- Punch out several 1/8″ and 1/4″ circles using red cardstock and attach them to the tree using glossy accents.
- Apply red stickles to the ornaments to add lots of sparkle.
- Cut the gold star using metallic gold cardstock and attach to the tree using glossy accents. I used the Stars die to cut the gold star.
The Wagon
- Cut the wagon using red cardstock.
- Cut it again using black cardstock.
- Assemble the parts and pieces using glossy accents.
- Attach a couple holly leaves to the handle and a red berry.
- Attach the tree to the back of the wagon.
The Frame and Deckle Hill
- Cut the frame and deckle hill snow layer using white cardstock.
- Apply double stick tape to the lower back of the frame and attach the snow layer.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the gingham card base.
- Apply a strip of 1/2″ double stick tape to the back of the wagon, tuck it in behind the snow layer and attach to the card base.
- Attach the handle in place using a rolled up glue dot.
- Finish by adding a few green sprigs behind the snow layer and attach using glossy accents.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my red wagon and Christmas tree card today. Enjoy your holiday weekend and all the Black Friday shopping. Here one more reminder for you to hop over to see all the stamps and dies on sale at Rubbernecker Stamps.
