Christmas Front Door Card

My project today is a welcoming Christmas front door card made several new dies just released by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I used the Door With Steps, Winter Lamp Post, Wrought Iron Fence, Deckle Hills, Greenery # 2 and Tiny Leaves

Come over to my blog and see how I made this Christmas front door card.

The Siding Card Base

  • Cut 15 to 20 1.2″ x 4.25″ strips of white cardstock
  • Apply ATG adhesive to a strip and attach it on the bottom of the card base.
  • Continue attaching the strips overlapping each strip slightly over the strip below it until you reach the top.

Assemble The Door

  • Cut the door sections using white and woodgrain cardstock.
  • Attach the pieces together using double stick tape.
  • Cut yellow cardstock to fit behind the window openings and attach to the back of the door using double stick tape.
  • Apply shimmer to the yellow window openings.
  • Attach the whole window unit to the card base using strips of double stick tape.

Come over to my blog and see how I made this snowy Christmas front door card.

The Lamp Post, Fence and Snow Layers

  • Cut the lamp post using black cardstock, the snowy parts using white cardstock and the lamp openings using yellow cardstock.
  • Attach the snow caps to the lamp and the yellow to the back of the lamps using glossy accents.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the post and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut the snowy ground layer using white cardstock and the fence sections using black cardstock.
  • Attach double stick tape to the back of the snow layer and attach the fence sections.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the snow and fence layer and attach it to the card base.

The Holly Wreath and Greenery Border

  • Cut tiny leaves and a small 3/4″ wreath base using green cardstock .
  • Attach the leaves to the wreath base using glossy accents.
  • Punch 1/8″ red circles for berries and attach them to the wreath using glossy accents.
  • Attach the wreath to the door using glossy accents and apply red stickles to the circles.
  • Cut greenery using green cardstock, tuck the branches in behind the snow layer and attach using glossy accents.
  • Apply white Gesso to the tips of the branches using a small brush.
  • Finish the card by decorating the lamp post with two holly leaves and a red sparkly berry.

  2. I loved your card with the door. Reading the methods you provided I never thought of using white Gesso to add for white snow. Some of other methods I’ve used were messy and not the greatest. I will have to make a note to remember to use my Gesso for this. Also, the use of Glossy Accents as an adhesive is another good tip. Your card was a timeless and beautiful card. Thank you for your creativity. I’m needing inspiration and you provided this today.
