Hydrangea Card

Today I’m sharing another hydrangea card made using soft pink flowers on a cream card base.  I had lots of these small flower leftover from my Vintage Card Design card that I shared earlier this week and wanted to use them up.  I hand cut the flower base to have more of a free form hydrangea instead of using punched circles.  For this card I used the Nested Scallop with Holes, Small Flowers #3, Leaf Group, Branch Shadow Background and a sentiment from the Best Friends set.

I loved making this hydrangea card and using the soft pink lflowers on the cream cardstock. Come over to see all the details of how I made this card.

The Card Base and Sentiment

  • Cut an A2 sized card base and scallop layer using cream cardstock.
  • Stamp the Branch Shadow background using Grass ink from the Color Fuse Set #11.
  • Use Nocturne ink to stamp the sentiment on the scalloped layer.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the scallop layer and attach it to the card base.

The Hydrangea and Foliage

  • Cut several sets of the Small Flowers #3 using soft pink cardstock. and two sets of the Leaf Group using green cardstock.
  • Color each flower center using a green marker.
  • Place the flower face up on the molding pad and form them using a small tipped stylus.
  • Hand cut a free form base and second small base for the hydrangea.
  • Pop up the smaller section in the center of the base using mounting tape.
  • Apply glossy accents to the small flowers and attach them all around the base and raised section to fill in the hydrangea.
  • Attach the foliage sections to the sentiment layer using glossy accents.
  • Apply a large piece of mounting tape to the hydrangea and attach it to the top corner of the sentiment layer.
  • Finish by attaching several small flowers to the branches using glossy accents.
