Handmade Red Truck Cards For Fall!

Red truck cards are everywhere and these are perfect for fall!

Everywhere you look, you see cute designs for red truck cards. You know that I adore them too and that’s why I made sure I included dies for these kinds of cards in the new Kittiekraft by Rubbernecker Release.  I also made sure that this new set of pumpkins were designed so they could fit in the back of my truck! These pumpkins are SO cute and so easy to make and I am sure you will love how they add just enough dimension to add lots of visual interest.

red truck cards are super popular and this one loaded with fall foliage and cute die cut pumpkins works for any occasion

The Card Base, Fence and Grass

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and light blue cardstock to cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ sky layer.
  • Attach the blue layer to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Cut two fence sections using woodgrain cardstock and color them using brown ink and a wet baby wipe.  Pro Tip:  Using a wet baby wipe dabbed directly on an ink pad and then swiped  across a large die cut section makes coloring fast and easy.

Baby Wipe Tree Inking

  • Attach the two fence sections together using glossy accents and trim to fit across the full width of the card.
  • Apply tiny pieces of mounting tape to the top back of a few pickets and ATG adhesive across the back bottom of the fence and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut a grass section using green cardstock, apply a strip of mounting tape to the back of it and attach it to the card base.

The Tree and Leaves

  • Use woodgrain cardstock to cut the tree and color it using brown ink and a wet baby wipe.
  • Cut tiny leaves using mustard, green, red and orange cardstock.  Pro Tip:  The leaf colors looked flat so to create a richer color I  dabbed each leaf with their respective color ink using a mini applicators.  Adding the color to the leaves didn’t take long and was well worth the time.
  • Place the leaves face up on the molding pad and gently form them using a leaf tool.
  • Attach the leaves to the tree using glossy accents leaving lots of branches bare for a sparse pattern of falling leaves.
  • Apply a strip of rolled up double stick tape to the back trunk of the tree and tiny pop dots to the back of a few key leaves.

  • Tuck the tree in behind the fence and attach it to the card base.

The Truck and Pumpkins

  • Cut the pumpkins using yellow cardstock and color all the sections using orange and rust ink and mini applicators.
  • Assemble the pumpkin sections and attach them together using strips of rolled up double stick tape.
  • Cut the truck sections using red, gray and black cardstock.
  • Attach the truck cab and mirrors together using glossy accents and set aside.
  • Assemble the back truck sections and attach them together using glossy accents and mounting tape.
  • Attach three pumpkins to the inside bed of the truck using glossy accents.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the pumpkins and truck and attach them to the cab of the truck.
  • Attach the whole truck section to the scene using pieces of mounting tape.

Finish the Scene

  • Tuck several pumpkins in behind the grass and around the truck and attach using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Use green cardstock to cut foliage sections, tuck them in behind the pumpkins and fence using glossy accents.
  • Use yellow cardstock to cut the sun and attach it to the card base using mounting tape.
  • Attach a few leaves to the grass using glossy accents.
  • Apply shimmer to the leaves, pumpkins, sun and truck using a shimmer pen.  Note:  I started out just applying shimmer to all the leaves and then got carried away and shimmered up all the pumpkins and truck as well.  I was like a kid with glitter and couldn’t help myself.  I know the shimmer doesn’t show well in the pictures but it really looks great in person.

All the adorable fall themed details on today's version of red truck cards were made with new dies from Kittiekraft by Rubbernecker

I’ve had a love for red truck cards starting way back with the Stampin’ Up! Loads of Love set.  I was so excited when Rubbernecker released their Truck Die Set.  Check out these links if you would like to see my Christmas Cards with Pickups and Christmas Tree Truck.  One of my favorites was was a snowy red truck winter scene made a long time ago using the Old Truck stamp.

I am sure if you start to look around you will see lots of cute handmade red truck cards – if you haven’t already! The old red truck motif is still going strong and I think these adorable handmade cards for fall are perfect for just about any occasion for the coming season.

  1. Fantastic, one of my favorite Autumn scenes, I so love the depth of all the pumpkins, cool truck with the pumpkin sign and the fence with the tree behind!
