For my post today I thought I would make another example of how to add flower embellishments to cards to create more dimension. This card started out to be just a pretty feminine use of the new Brass and Bliss Overalls set made using a page from the the Abundant Bouquet 6×6 Paper Pad and with the Garden Tools in the pockets. I had planned to add a sentiment but decided to add Tall Terracotta Pots fill with Small Flowers #3 and Spring Greenery #4.
Card Base
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
- Cut a 5.25″ x 4.00″ layer using green cardstock.
- Apply strips of double stick tap to the back of the green layer and attach it to the card base.
Overalls and Garden Tools
- Use a paper from the Abundant Bouquet 6×6 Paper Pad and light green cardstock to cut the Overalls sections.
- Attach the pocket sections to the overall front using double stick tape. Note: make sure to leave the top of each pocket unattached to insert the garden tools.
- Attach the overalls to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
- Use gray cardstock to cut the Garden Tools.
- Insert the tools behind the pockets and attaching using glossy accents.
Terracotta Pots
- Cut the Terracotta Pots using bright yellow cardstock.
- Use mini applicators and Autumn, Pumpkin and Pecan Color Fuse inks to apply color to the pots. Check out my YouTube Video Tutorial showing how I color my pots.
Flowers and Foliage
- Use purple cardstock to cut the Small Flowers #3 and green cardstock to green cardstock to cut the Spring Greenery #4.
- Place the small flowers face up on the molding pad and push down in the centers using a small tipped stylus.
- Use glossy accents to attach the smaller flower sections to the larger sections and make sure to offset the petals.
- Attach a few greenery sections to the back of the terracotta pots using glossy accents.
- Use glossy accents to attach the small flowers to the greenery. Pro Tip: I use reverse tweezers to pick up and attach the small flowers to the foliage.
- Attach the pots and flowers to the card base using pieces of mounting tape.
- Tuck some flower stems into the top pocket to finish.
