Come see how easy it is to make realistic poinsettia holiday cards like this one with easy to use cutting dies from Brass and Bliss!
I love using poinsettias on my holiday cards and being able to customize the color, the size and volume – how lush the blossom is – using my favorite poinsettia cutting dies from Brass and Bliss. To make this non-traditional pink and white project I used the Holly and Greenery Cover, Large Stacked Poinsettia, Holly #1, Tiny Flower Buds and This Christmas Set.
Card Base and Sentiment
Create a pink based card base and stamp the This Christmas Set sentiment. Attach the Holly and Greenery Cover to the base using strips of double stick tape.
Poinsettia and Holly
Cut the Large Stacked Poinsettia and Holly #1 using white cardstock. Use your fingers to gently bend each flower petal and holly leaf to add dimension. Attach the poinsettia layers together using glossy accents. Cut a set of Tiny Flower Buds and attach them in the center of the poinsettia.
Pro Tip: I use glossy accents to attach flower layers together due to its very strong hold. It’s perfect to use in areas where there high humidity like Florida.
Pro Tip: Use a tiny tipped stylus and molding pad to add a bit of dimension to the Tiny Flower Buds before attaching them to the flower center.
The Arrangement
Attach the poinsettia to the card base using glossy accents. Tuck the holly branches under the poinsettia and attach using glossy accents. Apply tiny pink circles to the holly leave for an additional touch of color
Pro Tip: Most times I don’t attach foliage to the card before the flower. Attaching foliage after the flower is set allows you to place them to highlight the flower.
