Framed Images on Cards

Using framed images on cards creates a more interesting project and highlights the major theme.

My project today is a perfect example of how to create a more interesting card by drawing attention to the main focal image.  For my card today I used the Brass and Bliss Fall Winter Deer, Wood Plank Panel and Classic Nested Oval dies .  I wanted to show off how easy it is to add framed images on cards.  This fun deer head is a perfect die to use for your masculine card ideas.

Using framed images cards is the perfect way to add interest.

I love that the deer set comes with all the flower and foliage dies you see here as well fall leaves and branches.  It provides everything you need to create a fully embellished arrangement  and to show of the technique of framed images on cards.

Card Base and Frame

  • Attach the wood panel to the A2 sized card base.
  • Use two of the dies from the oval set to cut the frame.  Pro Tip:  After I’ve cut the largest oval I secure the smaller die to it with masking tape to ensure an even cut.
  • Use pieces of mounting tape to attach the frame to the base.

Deer

  • Cut the deer using a few different colors of cardstock.
  • Assemble the pieces and attach them together using Nuvo glue.  Pro Tip:  I use the Nuvo glue to attach tiny pieces because it dries totally clear and doesn’t show if a little bit of glue slips out from under the die cut piece.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the deer and attach it inside the frame

Poinsettia Arrangement

  • Cut a few sections of the flower parts and attach them together with glossy accents.  Pro Tip:  I use glossy accents to adhere flower and foliage parts together because it creates such a strong hold.  I live in Florida and the humidity plays havoc with glued objects.
  • Apply glossy accents to the flower back and attach it to the
  • Cut a few sections of each of the foliage parts.
  • Tuck the foliage sections under and around the flower and attach with glossy accents to complete the arrangement.
