Surf’s Up

Good Sunday morning.  I have a fun beach scene to share with you today. I made this for Jeanne’s DTGD12JeanneS challenge.  I thought the fun Swaying Palm dies would look great paired up with the Rubbernecker Woody and my simple hand painted surf boards.

I sponged light brown sand and blue water and sky on watercolor for the base of my scene.  I used the sand image from my Kittie Kits Beach Master to add texture to the sand area.  I lightly applied liquid applique to the ocean to create the appearance of waves and white sea foam.  I tapped my finger over the liquid applique to spread and remove the bubbles that sometimes cause the dreaded blobs.  I finished the scene by adding some birds in the sky.

I created the double matted frame with a 1/4” mat and applied mounting tape between the layers for dimension.  I attached the frame over the scene more with mounting tape to add one more layer of distance between the frame and the scene. I stamped a bit of sand on the frame and then I applied the die cut trees to the frame.  I attached the Woody and surfboards to the frame.  I figured those waves would be big enough for a surfer to enjoy.Kittie for Jeanne left

I hope you are having a relaxing and restful weekend. Thanks for stopping by.
