Susan’s Garden Patch Frame

Sunday morning.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. OUr inspiration site was a Pinterest Gallery full of Beautiful Cookies. I was in absolute awe of the artistry on this site.  You should hop over and take a look for yourself.  You will be amazed.  I was inspired by four beautiful Flower Cookies. I thought it would be fun to create a framed grouping of mixed flowers.  I used two of my new Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Patch sets by Susan Tierney Blackburn.  The frame for my project was made using the Garden Patch 1 1/2 Inch and Mini Roses set. Several of the flowers were made using the Garden Patch 1 Inch and Mini Daisy and Chrysanthemum set.  I also used the Impression Obsession Tulip Set, Leaves and Stems, Tiny Flowers and the grassy patches from the Mini Bunnies set. The butterflies are from the Memory Box Butterfly Delights.

I cut the rectangle frame out, applied rolled double stick tape to the back and attached it to the card base.  I cut several of each flower, formed them with my stylus and molding pad, assembled the flowers with glossy accents and  applied shading with mini applicators and distress ink. I wanted each of my square frames to be filled with mixed flowers that look like they are growing in a spring garden.

I attached the grass patches in each frame with glossy accents. I randomly arranged flowers and attached them in place with glossy accents. I twisted the tulip leaves with my fingers to make them appear natural and attached them around the flowers with glossy accents.

I couldn’t resist adding a few butterflies for the finishing touch. I know this card full of spring garden flowers will cheer someone’s day when they receive it.

  1. Oh Kittie! I needed a breath of Spring! I just came in from walking my dog in the snow and it seems as though Spring will never arrive here this year. This card is delightful and I’m certain that whomever receives it will know they have a special place in your heart.
