Peppermint Candy and Holly Coffee Set

Good Sunday morning.  Before I start talking about my project I just want to remind you to check out my Ellen Hutson’s Things We Love 2015 post and leave a comment for a chance to win a wonderful giveaway prize.  You can also use my exclusive discount code thingswelovekittie to receive a discount on all in stock items in Ellen’s store.

I have a whimsical holiday coffee pot and mugs project to share with you today using the Impression Obsession Coffee Set paired with the Peppermint Block  stamp and die duo, Pine Pair and All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2.  The holly paper reminds me of the Lenox Holiday china pattern.  I guess this looks a little like Lenox meets Candy Land.  LOL!  I thought it would be fun to add lots of fun with the candy canes and peppermint candies.  This would be a perfect invitation for a friend to come over for some holiday coffee and desert.

I attached the frames to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape. The coffee pot and mugs were cut using Penny Black Wintertime paper, lightly touched the edges of the pieces to my versa pad and then embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut a second pot and applied versa to the handle, spout and lid and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut the sections off and attached them over top of the pot base with glossy accents. The pot and mugs were attached to the card base suing double layers of mounting tape. The little napkins were cut using my Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Square set., were fold in half and attached with glue dots.

I wanted to add some fun elements to this with the candy canes and peppermint candies.  I thought while I was cutting these pieces out I would show you a few pictures to show you how the block duo set works.

Peppermint Block 1

Apply ink to the stamp block and stamp on your cardstock.

Peppermint Block 2

Lay the block directly over top of the stamped image and run through your die cutting machine.

Peppermint Block 3

Perfect candy canes and peppermint candies every time!

I stamped the image with Festive Berries ink and then applied clear embossing powder and embossed.  The distress ink stays wet long enough to hold powder and it sure adds a fun shiny touch to the candy.

I attached the candy canes in the mugs with small pieces of mounting tape.  I added sprigs of pine to the coffee pot and napkins with glossy accents and then attached the peppermint candies with rolled up glue dots. I applied pieces of pine to the top left corner with glossy accents and added a multi loop gingham bow for the finishing touch.

  6. Kittie I just love reading your details and looking at your designs and all the steps you take to bring your creations to life, also the reasons you choose a certain paper to use. I am so amazed at all the little steps you take to create all the details it sometimes makes me giddy. Thanks for also showing the peppermint and candy cane stamps and dyes, for some reason I didnt understand how they worked. Gorgeous gorgeous card.

  7. Lenox meets Candyland! LOL. So funny. I adore this card.
The pin button code on your blog does not show the project photo and only gives a choice of either your profile photo or a photo of one of the products you used. A setting needs to be changed in the code that allows the viewer to choose from the photos on the blog.
I pinned the long way around. To pin this I copied your url then went to Pinterest, clicked on upload a pin button and then pasted the url into the box. That brought me to the photos on your blog and then I was able to select today’s project and then select my Kittie board and then pinned.
