Good Monday morning. I love making colorful fall leaves as the main focal point of a project and placing them on a clean and simple background. My project today was made using Julie’s Autumn Acorn Stamp Set and Autumn Die Set and was paired with the Poppystamps Leafy Frame.
I cut several leaves and used mini applicators to apply Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey Distress Inks on the leaves in a random pattern. When the leaves were fully colored I applied versa and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink on the acorn stamp, misted lightly and stamped several times on watercolor paper. I used my waterbrush to fill in the white line details on the image and then applied versa and heat embossed. Hint: Even though I used the larger of the two acorn stamps in the set I used the smaller acorn die to cut them out. The smaller die left less white space around the outer rim of the image. I touched up the remaining white edges with a mini applicator. Check out my step by step Leaves with Distress Inks tutorials if you would like to see how I color my leaves.
I stamped the Happy Fall Sentiment on the card base with versa and embossed with gold embossing powder. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base. The leaves were arranged and and then attached with glossy accents and and the acorns were attached with mounting tape. Although the card base is totally white the die cut leaf pattern of the frame adds an element of interest without taking away from the leaves and sentiment.

Your card is so pretty! I really like how you use Distress Inks and show they can be used to color your leaves!
Beautiful card, can not wait until fall. Thank you for the chance of winning the embossing folder.
This is absolutely beautiful! I love how the leaves and acorns frame the sentiment!
Love those little acorns and your pretty leaves – fall is in the air!
Morning Kittie…..
I love the colors you’ve used on the leaves….. So very Fall-ish… I was walking thru our park and I found an acorn so the card was spot on today….lol. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity…
Your card is sensational. I LOVE the shine and coloring of the leaves and your wonderful tip about cutting the acorns with the smaller die. I struggle with white space around die cuts…it’s idiosyncratic, I know, lol. TFS
Such a delightful fall card and love your tips on die cutting the acorns. Beautiful card and die cutting!
this is beautiful. The gorgeous leaves look fabulous against the leafy frame die cut. Well done as usual. I pinned as usual.
