Today I want to share my pretty summer wreath with die cut flowers and foliage. I love how the green foliage and pink and white flowers pop against the all white background. The pink organdy multi loop bow adds a touch of softness and additional dimension to the project. The frame was made using the Rubbernecker Square Combo OPC Frame and the wreath base was made using the Nested Circle set. The foliage was made using the Leaf Group and the flowers were made using the Flower Buds.
The Foliage Wreath Base and Frames
I started by cutting a circle base for my wreath using two of the smaller dies in the circle set. Next, I cut several sections of the Leaf Group and cut the branches apart to use to fill in the wreath base. I began attaching the foliage pieces around the circle base using glossy accents and worked my way around until the foliage base was complete. You can check out my step by step Wreath Tutorial to see how I make my wreaths. The frame sections were attached to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
Coloring and Forming the Flowers
I used a mini applicator to apply touches of the Rose ink to the center of each flower but intentionally left the outer petals white to create contrast. I used my small tipped stylus and molding pad to form each flower.
Completing the Summer Wreath with Die Cut Flowers and Foliage
The flowers were arranged and attached to the foliage wreath base using glossy accents. I filled in with lots of flowers all the way around the wreath and left a small space open to attach the multi loop bow. Once complete I applied glossy accents to the back of the wreath base and attached it to the card base.
I really love how the white scalloped frames adds dimension to the card base without distracting from the colorful wreath. I sure hope you have been inspired to create you own summer wreath with die cut flowers and foliage. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day holiday.
