Bicycle Silhouette

Making this bicycle silhouette scene card was lots of fun and I love how it turned out.  Sadly, I had a hard time getting good pictures to show off how beautiful the Carta Bella Home Again designer paper is.  Originally, I made the scene with all white images and it was impossible to photograph.  I hate it when that happens.  So I decided to tuck in some green foliage and purple flowers to the basket and grass line and exchanged the white butterflies with purple butterflies.  In the end I really liked it better with the changes. For this project I used the Rubbernecker Bicycle, Deckle Frame, Small Ivy, Tiny Flower Buds, Small Butterflies and Best Friends sentiment set.

The Card Base and Deckle Frame

  • Cut an A2 sized card base and a 5.50″ x 4.25″ piece of designer paper.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the designer and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut the deckle frame using white cardstock and stamp the sentiment using Nocturne ink.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back and attach it to the card base.

Die Cut Bicycle Scene and Stamp and Scrapbook Expo Shows

Good Sunday morning.  I’m sharing a die cut bicycle scene with you today that I made using several newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I haven’t posted in several days as I have been busy making projects to show off in the Rubbernecker booth at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo shows.  I’m so excited to be coming to Irving, Texas on February 22 and 23 and to Pleasanton, California on March 1 and 2.  I hope you’ll stop by and say hello if you are attending either of these events.

The Dies

As you can see I used a long list of dies to  create this scene but I really love how it turned out.  The newly released dies are Rectangle Combo #3, Bicycle, Small Flowers #1, Grass #2 and Leaf Stems.  I paired the new dies with the Winter Tree, Small Ivy Leaves, Picket Fence, Deckle Hills, Tiny Flower Buds, Flower Stems and Small Butterflies.

Come see how I made this die cut bicycle scene.

The Tree and Leaves

  • Cut the tree using Kraft cardstock.
  • Apply Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink directly to the tree using the direct to paper technique.
  • Heat dry the ink using a heat gun.
  • Cut several sets of the ivy leaves using green cardstock.
  • Gently form the leaves using the leaf tool from the Garden Tool kit and molding pad.
  • Cut the right lower branch away from the tree to create the second tree branch for the scene.
  • Attach the leaves to the tree branches using glossy accents.

The Frame, Deckle Hills, Grass and Fence

  • Cut the frame once in white cardstock. and again in red cardstock.
  • Turn the red fence sections face down and attach the two largest sections together using double stick tape.
  • Apply double stick tape to the face of the smaller frame section and attach the white frame over top of it.  This creates a lightly popped up appearance but it doesn’t really show well in the photos.
  • Cut the deckle hill grass section using green cardstock.
  • Cut a couple sections of the grass pieces and attach to the back of the deckle hill section using glossy accents. I love this new grass die that cuts several individual pieces of grass.
  • Attach the grass layer to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the frame, attach the fence section and then attach the whole frame to the card base.

Come see how I made this summer die cut bicycle scene.

Assemble the Bicycle and Flower Basket

  • Cut the bicycle out using red, gray and black cardstock.
  • Assemble the pieces and attach together using glossy accents.
  • Cut the flowers using red and white flowers and cut a few flower stems.
  • Cut the basket in gray and fill in the back of the basket using a piece of handout red cardstock.
  • Attach a few flower stems and tiny flowers to the basket using glossy accents.
  • Attach the basket to the bicycle using small pieces of mounting tape.

Finish the Die Cut Bicycle Scene

  • Tuck the tree sections in behind the fence and frame and attach in place with pieces of mounting tape.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the bicycle and attach it to the grass and fence layers.
  • Cut leaf stems using green cardstock and small flowers using red cardstock.
  • Attach the flowers to the stems using glossy accents and tuck them in behind the grass sections and attach using glossy accents.
  • Finish the scene by cutting small butterflies using red cardstock and attach them in the scene using glossy accents.

Come see how I made this colorful die cut bicycle scene.

This die cut bicycle scene card was so much fun to make.  I hope you have been inspired to get out your favorite dies and make a scene of your own.  Have you checked out the new Rubbernecker die release?  There are so many fun dies to play with.  Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
