The Challenge Chicks– Circles

Good Sunday morning.  I am excited to announce that I have been invited to be on The Challenge Chicks design team.  A new challenge will be posted every month and we would love for you to join us! No stress, no deadlines… just lots of fun!  Please play along with us and link your projects on The Challenge Chicks Community Facebook page. The Challenge this month is Circles.

I love scallops and just couldn’t resist the new Memory Box Pinpoint Scalloped Circles. I thought it would be perfect to use for our circles challenge.  I paired it with the Impression Obsession Spring Wreath set,  Fancy Cut Border and the Nesting Circles.  If you take a close look at the intricate background you will see lots and lots of circles.

I placed the white cardstock on my magnet platform and placed the Fancy Cut Border face down,  lined it up on the edge of the paper and cut.  I repeated these steps two more times to create the full page die cut background. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the background and attached to the card base.  I cut the scalloped circle and then cut the frame opening.  I cut a smaller frame to attach to the back for a double matted frame.  I attached the scalloped frame to a piece of white cardstock with mounting tape and then attached the completed frame to the card base with ATG adhesive.

I cut the wreath once and cut the large and small flowers twice.  The wreath was just a little too large to fit inside the framed circle so I cut it apart into several smaller sections.  I attached a flower to the top portion of  five of the cut stems and let them dry for a moment.  Eliminating a few of the cut wreath sections allowed me to fit five of the flower and stem sections perfectly inside the frame.  I applied glossy accents to the cut end of the first stem and attached to the inside frame base.  The flower was left loose so I could lift it up to tuck the cut end of the next stem under it.  I repeated this step four more times until all of the stem sections were attached.  Then I went back and secured each loose flower head with glossy accents.

I applied a pearl in the center of each of the larger flowers and then added a few smaller flowers for the finishing touch.

  4. When I need inspiration, I know just where to come! Such a beautiful expression of beauty with circles to behold! The color is very similar to something I’ve worked up for a downline’s first class … so now I feel the color choice is great after seeing this! (((hugs)))
