Two Handmade Vintage Truck Card Ideas

Handmade vintage truck card ideas – front OR back!

Many of you have asked for more handmade vintage truck card ideas and I am SO excited to share today’s post with you! Not only do I have brand new dies to share from my Kittiekraft by Rubbernecker line, I have two entirely different takes on this classic, enduring theme of old trucks. I’ve got one card with a FRONT view and another with a REAR view! How fun is that? I even left the tree in the back so you could imagine you are looking at the same truck from the two different sides.

The Scene Elements

I created both cards with  framing and snow layers.  For the front scene I used a clear blue sky background and for the back scene I used a pretty designer paper.  I attached the snow layers to the front of the frame for the front scene and behind the frame for the back scene.  Both frames were attached to the card base using strips of mounting tape.

The trucks were assembled using strips of mounting tape and glossy accents.  I created tiny wreaths to fit on both the front and back of the trucks. The crimped trees were attach directly to the trucks with pieces of mounting tape to add more dimension.  I added a bright star to the top of both trees for a fun whimsical touch.  The little magic sign on the front and back of the trucks were stamped with a masked off sentiment from the Christmas Cheer set.

The crimped trees were added to the front truck scene to fill in space.  I saw no need for additional trees in the back truck scene since I used a designer paper for the background. Bright red cardinals were added to both scenes to add interest and to draw the eye up to offset the heavy weighted bottom of the scene with the truck and snow layers.

You probably alrady know how much I love making truck cards, especially red trucks for Christmas.  Here are links to a few of my favorite truck Christmas truck projects – Shadow Box Truck for Christmas, Christmas Cards with Pickup Trucks and Christmas Tree Truck.

  3. Your little Christmas trucks are so cute! I love red trucks for Christmas. As a child we had a little red GMC for our farm. Thank you for the memories! 🙂
