Good Wednesday morning. My project today was made using the Impression Obsession Holly Wreath paired with the Circle Shaker Frames, Pine Sprig Cluster, Twig Wreath and a few pieces of the Bare Branch.
I started by cutting out the wreath a few times, one for the main body of the wreath and the others to cut up to add additional branches to the wreath. I cut the birds out in red, added a little shading with a marker and then applied a light coat of the metallic gold pastel. I cut the twig wreath to be a base for the holly wreath and I attached the holly to the twig wreath with a few dots of glossy accents. I added the holly sprigs and pine sprigs and attached with glossy accents to fill in and make the wreath fuller looking. I applied a fine layer of gold pastel to a piece of scrap red cardstock and then punched the tiny circles using the 1/8” circle punch to create the berries. I attached them all around the wreath with glossy accents.
I cut the square and shaker frames, applied a light coat of gold pastel and attached them to the card base with mounting tape. I attached the wreath to the shaker frame and card base with a triple layer of mounting tape placed in a few strategic places. I added several sprigs of the bare branch to the bottom portion of the wreath to fill in and add interest to the design and finished by adding the small multi loop bow. Believe it or not I added a fine layer of gold pastel to the ribbon before I tied it so it would match the gold on all the red framing, birds and berries. The gold highlighting doesn’t show well in the pictures but it adds so much elegance to this card.
The delicate beautiful birds were almost hidden with the foliage so here’s a closer view. Click on all of the photos if you would like to see even larger views.
I sure appreciate you coming by and I hope you are having a great week.

Just beautiful…as usual! Kittie, I have a question for you: when you’re working with the teensy flowers and sprigs, do you pick them up with tweezers and dip into a drop of glossy accepts, then apply them, OR do you prefer that applicator which has adhesive on the tip to pick them up and apply them? Just wondering what works best for you? Thanks so much!
Very nice, Kittie! Great wreath and I adore those tiny red birds. 🙂
